Shaking Hands

Shaking Hands Muslim schoolboys who refused to shake hands with their female teacher will face a steep fine. This is the latest turn in a controversial matter that started last April in a Swiss school, when two Muslim boys refused to shake hands with their (female) teacher, because that would go against the Koran’s teachings. The boys argued that Islam forbids men to have physical contact with a woman outside of the family unit. But this explanation did not convince the…See More

Learning and Speaking English Language

 Learning and Speaking English Language  I'm not sure how learning English will help stop extremism either, many of those who have carried out/plotted atrocities have been highly educated. Speaking English does not promote integration into British, American and Australian societies, and broaden opportunities. English speaking Muslim youths are angry, frustrated and extremist, thanks to state schools with monolingual non-Muslim teachers and English language. English language is not only a lingua…See More

Free Our Schools

Free Our Schools Almost all children now believe they go to school to pass exams. The idea that they may be there for an education is irrelevant. State schools have become exam factories, interested only in A to C Grades. They do not educate children.  Exam results do not reflect a candidate’s innate ability. Employers have moaned for years that too many employees cannot read or write properly. According to a survey, school-leavers and even graduates lack basic literacy and numeracy skills.…See More

Boston Bombing

Muslim community unconditionally condemns and repudiates the bombings that took place in Boston. We share the pain of fellow Americans and express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed or injured in this vicious attack. The killing of innocents can never be justified.  And, it is our hope that the perpetrator(s) of this horrible act soon be apprehended and brought to justice. Two brothers, one dead, one alive and at large. After hours when they were known…See More

Academies Bill

 Muslim AcademiesAcademies bill will enable a radical overhaul of England's schools, giving every school the chance to convert to an academy and giving parents the right to create free schools outside the control of LAs.The new schools will drive up standards and the education would be in accordance with the needs and demands of the parents. It will help native Brits, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities to set up their own schools for the education of their children. It is nothing to do…See More

Hello and welcome to the co-production practitioners network Iftikhar, thanks for joining us!

The practitioners network is supported by nef but all content is developed by members, for members. There's over 700 of us now from a wide range of backgrounds. To make the most of this fantastic resource, and in the spirit of co-production, do give others the chance to get involved by asking them to help you or sharing your skills with others.

Some of the following areas are good starting points;

Network groups – join your regional group for face to face and online contacts close to home. There's a strong network in London if you're looking for some local face to face contacts, just go to the networking page to find it.

Resources and Videos bring co-production to life - add your own and view others.

The Blog carries the latest news, debate and opportunities for co-production practitioners. See what’s going on, add in your own comments or start a new thread.

It would really help to know how you heard about the network and what motivated you to join. Please let me know at lucie.stephens@neweconomics.org. Also, please share the details of the network with colleagues or contacts you think would be interested.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Lucie

Head of Co-production, nef
