"Hi Lorna,   Welcome. I'm also interested in exploring links between CD and co-production, and thinking about CD as a co-productive approach. I wonder if this might be a helpful theme to explore some time at an event, eg a CDX…"

"I completely agree Mark, I think that one of the problems is that those who work in the public sector continually get different messages about what people should be called and this causes people not to interact naturally but to constantly search and…"

Customers and active citizens

I recently attended an event at which someone from a public sector organisation was talking about some future developments. In the course of this talk, she kept referring to local residents as 'customers' , and talking about 'customer service'. It occurred to me that, if we are to make progress with co-production, we need to move beyond this 'customer' mentality, this perception of local residents as 'customers' of services provided by public sector agencies, and we need to move instead to…See More

Background to your work
I work as a community development and health worker. Asset based work and co-production is one if my main interests. I have been involved in the Dept of Health funded pilot programme on asset based work, in Eastmoor and Knottingley. Interested in looking at various approaches that have been used/could be used to take forward such work (eg world cafe, appreciative inquiry, photography projects, ... ) and assessing the effectiveness of these approaches. Interested in ways of evaluating co-production/asset based work, and looking at how co-production relates to a focus on outcomes and impacts.

Hi Mark
Apologies for my delay in response. I'd love to explore some activity around CD and coproduction. Please do throw it in to the discussions at the CDX conference on Staurday, we can see if anyone else is interested, and perhaps arrange a time to start planning something - I'd love to be involved though I know very little about coproduction and have no experience of it.
Cheers, Lorna
